Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) agrees to plead responsible to a conspiracy cost and pay greater than $1B to resolve the U.S. authorities’s investigation into violations of the Overseas Corrupt Practices Act, the Division of Justice publicizes.

The overall features a legal penalty of greater than $520M and one other $540M to be paid to the Securities and Trade Fee in a associated matter.

Ericsson admitted it had conspired with others to violate the FCPA by partaking in a longstanding scheme to pay bribes, falsify books and information, and fail to implement cheap inner accounting controls, the DoJ says, including that the corporate used third social gathering brokers and consultants to make bribe funds to authorities officers and/or to handle off-the-books slush funds.

Ericsson stated in September it might take a $1.2B cost to cowl associated financial sanctions and different prices.
